FAQ
What does the AMDS workshop include?
AMDS is more than just a role-playing experience. Using real medical equipment and high-fidelity simulation technology, participants step into the roles of patients, family members, or medical staff to deeply experience decision-making at critical moments. After the simulation, a guided debriefing session invites participants to reflect and exchange perspectives. Finally, we provide a clear explanation of the Advance Medical Directive (AMD) — covering both its content and real-life application — to help participants turn their experience into practical knowledge and informed action.
Will the experience be emotionally distressing or triggering?
AMDS explores end-of-life scenarios that may evoke strong emotions or bring up past personal experiences. We have designed safety measures including emotional support and professional facilitation, and we encourage participants to express and process their feelings during the debriefing session.
To ensure your emotional safety, if you have experienced trauma or have any concerns about participating, please contact us before registering or attending. We will assess and accommodate as needed — your safety is our top priority.
Is this workshop suitable for healthcare professionals?
Absolutely. AMDS is not only designed to help the public understand the medical perspective, it also offers healthcare professionals the chance to step into the shoes of patients and families, reflect on their own approach to end-of-life care, and deepen empathy and clinical insight. It is a platform for two-way learning and meaningful dialogue.
